I love the beautiful, bright white classic color of these cultured pearls. The clasp is stamped H "for Honora" 10K. This is VINTAGE HONORA, a sought-after brand, and even more so that the pearls are vintage.

Vintage cultured pearls were not as mass-produced as they are in todays pearl farms. The nucleous of the pearl was left to add more and more continuous layers of nacre, giving each pearl more depth and luster. Todays pearl farms, as in almost all production, are concerned more with quantity and less with quality. Of course, there are exceptions to that rule, name brand, family owned farms continue to work hard, maintaining the quality that has been associated with the family name brand. However, that high quality comes with an equally high, if not higher, price tag.
